CSI Miami: What makes sense for the Dolphins?
It’s time to put on our investigative boots and figure out which rumors makes sense for the Dolphins and which rumors are pure speculation. Twitter is the newest and hottest tool for the NFL world and while it is a huge asset for us fans, it is also a tool that can be taken advantage of. Rumblings and rumors have been going around since free agency has started and just about every player in the league who was on the trading block or was a free agent was at some point rumored to be headed to South Beach.
So now it’s time here at Phins Phocus to do our best David Caruso interpretation and get down to business by findind out what makes sense and what is fishy.
Update On Orton : ESPN's @AdamSchefter on #Broncos QB situation: "The Denver Broncos are not going to trade Kyle Orton. That's not going to happen."

Rumors that make NO sense
Osi Umenyiora-

Originally the price tag for Osi was a first-round pick which left a very dry market and forced the Giants to change their demands to a second-round pick. This rumor maybe makes the least sense of all the rumors to me. Trading for Osi means giving up a 2nd round pick (which might be needed in next year’s draft to nab a QB) and signing Osi to a huge contract. I just don’t get it! Not to mention I don’t get where the buzz of Osi to Miami is coming from as Jason LaCanfora of NFL Network listed 5 teams interested and Miami was NOT one of them.
Zach Miller – This rumor started about a week ago, and I think it was purely based on the fact that some fans are not satisfied with Anthony Fasano and therefore created in their mind that Zach Miller must be coming to Miami. However, the Dolphins just drafted Charles Clay to compliment Fasano and there was never really a need at the tight end position. Not to mention he just signed with Seattle.
Check out this blog by a friend of mine, which carefully explains how Zach Miller is not a necessity to the Dolphins http://www.dolphinsblog.com/zach-miller-luxury-not-necessity/
Braylon Edwards
More invented buzz by Phins Nation. If Rex Ryan passed on this guy because he has too much diva in him, do you really think Ireland would take that kind of risk when he has Marshall on the team at this fragile time? I am ALL for getting more weapons for Henne but C’MON MAN! Coach also said yesterday on the Finsiders that he really likes the group of WR's we currently have.
Rumors that are real
Shaun O’Hara
Although he did leave Miami without a contract, there is clear interest in the former pro bowl center from New York. Though past his prime, O’Hare might bring stability and leadership to get this O-Line intact.
Leonard Davis
A very big boy from Dallas and fills the hole at Guard that Miami had last year. Also a little past his prime, but the kid can still play. Another reason this rumor makes sense is because he is a former Dallas Cowboy. Any rumor that involves a former Cowboy makes sense!
Vernon Carey restructuring his contract

It has already been confirmed by members of the Miami media that Vernon will return to practice today. It is rumored that the Dolphins want his 7 million dollar cap hit to be more like 2-3 million. If true, that would create nice space for Miami.
Dont always believe what you read on twitter!
