The rumours and speculation during the legal tampering period will soon come to an end as the 2014 NFL free agency period officially begins Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET. With $35.1 million in cap space, the Miami Dolphins are expected to be one of the busiest teams in the league.
In addition to tracking the Dolphins signings, we'll also provide updates on the status of where the team's current free agents will be playing next season. This page will be updated as signings occur.
Dolphins Free Agent Notes
- Rams OG Shelley Smith will visit the Dolphins tonight. Smith, 26, has limited experience as a starter and is below average in pass blocking. However, he graded out as one of the best run blocking guards in 2013. He would likely fit in at left guard if signed.
- Former Rams CB Cortland Finnegan is visiting the Dolphins tomorrow. Finnegan was once a great corner but is now 30 years old and was cut by the Rams this offseason. Miami is in need of a veteran corner and could land Finnegan on a one year "prove it" deal.
- The Dolphins have reached out to Saints right tackle Zach Strief. Although his preference is to return to the Saints, Miami is making an attempt to sign him considering he is the top right tackle available.no comments
